I'm against socialized medicine
I was listening to This American Life podcast yesterday from Chicago Public Radio... and the episode I was listening to was about fear of going to sleep. They interviewed a family living in PUBLIC HOUSING that had soo many roaches that they repeatedly had to go to the ER to have them removed from their ears. They were afraid to sleep at night because they knew the critters would be on the move and moving around on them. The interesting thing was that they had gotten used to living like this and since the neighborhood did not have gang violence they were going to stay there.
Health care... just think of that roach infested government housing... there is no need for the landlord to give superior service to tenants because he is being paid by the government either way... At least with capitalism you get better quality or you MOVE ON. Who, in their right mind, would pay a monthly rent fee and live infested with roaches? Not only did this family have roaches in their ears but every drawer was a scurry and every "roach trap" was FULL of them. But in their minds they stayed because life could be worse... So when government takes over health care there will be no more need to save lives or even give adequate health care. Doctors will be paid either way. In fact it will be better for the government if you die--one less patient to worry about. You will just get used to mediocracy or even worse. So government can't supply adequate housing to poor people... how do you think they are going to supply superior medical care to a nation? Prepare to be infested.

It's Window Time at Cherie's In downtown St. Petersburg!
Make a special trip in about a week to see my window and enjoy Cherie's shop! Cherie's is on the corner of Beach Drive and 2nd Ave. North. She is closing in October. And that will be a dark day for St. Petersburg. Come on people... start spending your money in local shops on local artists!! Think and act locally! Photos by my mom: JOY KOSHAREK!

ARTPOOL:TRA'shion Fashion photos
I wore a magenta wig... I think it helped me pretend to be someone else so that I had the nerve to walk down a runway with people watching... It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I think the wig and the sunglasses helped me play a part instead of feeling insecure as me. I was the fashion clown of the evening! And I didn't really mind that... cause really clothes... fashion... it's all a joke isn't it? I mean if you're covered and warm... isn't that enough? I know... it's not. And clothing is one of those areas where people are constantly judging you. And I love to look nice so I get it... I get it. So for the fashion show I had four male models wearing my one-of-a-kind ties and I also wore a hand made dress, tie and two purses that I saved from the GW boutique and painted them... There were 30 designers in the fashion show and they were fabulous! Lots of neat ideas some were pieces of art and others were useable. Clothes made out of every material imaginable... from metal to plastic, cardboard, newspaper, and even FABRIC! It was a fun evening.

Listening to This American Life. It's my favorite podcast. You can find it on itunes. If you want to...
I'm tired... it's hot. I should go to bed and not force out a blog. But, here i am... sitting here with a couple of minutes by myself so maybe I can eek out a couple of words. And really I owe Test an email so I should be doing that... but I'm already here... on blogspot... cause I just uploaded several mail art pieces... so here i am.
Sometimes it feels like there is so much to say but I just can't begin.
Ahh... Saturday night--TRA'Shion Fashion show at Artpool... it's going to be fabulous... I'm walking the runway folks. Can you imagine that? I designed some recycled ties... really started off doing it for a church dance that had the theme of ties and blue jeans... and now is ending in a fashion show... I'll be wearing a dress that I made... a couple of purses that I painted and a tie that I made. I'll have some guy models wearing the rest of the ties! Can you imagine that? Pics will be coming later... after the show... should be very interesting. Marina Williams the founder and owner of Artpool is also an EXCELLENT photographer. We did a photoshoot yesterday. It was so much fun and she made me feel real pretty. So buy your tickets now... it's going to be a full house!!
Last week we incubated another 4 chicks... hoping they will be hens and not roosters. The other two are still too young to tell. At least for a novice like me! There is a photo of them--3 darkies and one blondie. We thought the blonde one wasn't going to make it because she seemed so weak but she has perked up!
Pic of me on the imac... Then 2 pieces of sent mail art.
